Bishop PD Arrested 17-year-old for Stolen Vehicle

BISHOP (News Release) - This Morning, a Bishop Police Department supervisory officer assigned to the Nueces County District Attorney’s Criminal Interdiction Unit was conducting traffic enforcement operations on U.S. Hwy 77 southbound within the city of Bishop, Texas.

During that time a license plate check was conducted on a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 77 and the check revealed the vehicle was an active stolen vehicle out of the state of Louisiana.

A felony traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 77 and FM 70, in Bishop. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, was taken into custody a short time later without incident.

This motor vehicle was reported stolen in Louisiana at approximately 7:32 am this morning and was recovered by Bishop PD a few hours later.

The suspect was placed under arrest for felony (U.U.M.V) and later transported to the Nueces County Jail.
