City Continues Tree and Foliage Maintenance

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI - The City of Corpus Christi is performing tree trimming and foliage removal of vegetation that was damaged during February’s extreme weather event. The maintenance operations will shift to the City’s major corridors. These corridors include South Padre Island Drive (from Flour Bluff to the Crosstown Expressway) and the U.S. 181 & I.H. 37 interchange.

Work in these areas is anticipated to begin on Thursday, May 20, 2021 (weather permitting), and will last approximately three weeks.

The initiative will require some short-term traffic lane closures. Lane closures will include:

  • The westbound intersection of Everhart Road and South Padre Island Drive Frontage Road

  • The westbound intersection of Weber Road and South Padre Island Drive Frontage Road

  • The westbound intersection of Kostoryz Road and South Padre Island Frontage Road

  • The intersection of Mesquite Street and U.S. 181 (Harbor Bridge)

Safety is a top priority for the City. Therefore, motorists are reminded to observe the traffic control measures that will be performed in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation.
