CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – The Corpus Christi City Council awarded an amendment to a professional services contract to Hanson Professional Services, Inc. of Corpus Christi, Texas. The contract is for the design, bid, and construction oversight services for the FY 2022 and FY 2023 Residential Street Rebuild Program (RSRP).  Funding for the service contract comes from the Street, Storm Water, Water, Wastewater, and Gas funds in the amount of $5.2 million.

The Residential Street Rebuild Program (RSRP) is a citywide program that extends the life and structural integrity of selected residential streets through rehabilitation or replacement. Hanson Professional Services Inc. has provided professional services for previous RSRP streets projects. The approved amendment will continue the program without delays.

The amendment will provide the development of the design plans for the RSRP streets listed on the FY 2022 Infrastructure Management Plan (IMP). In addition, the contractor will prepare the bid documents for the street projects listed on the FY 2023 IMP. The RSRP projects on the FY 2022 and FY 2023 IMP represent 64 streets.

The design process for all 64 streets is anticipated to be complete by December 2023. The value of construction to be bid under this program is estimated to be up to $30 million with construction estimated to begin by the Fall of 2022.
