Construction Project on Huntwick Avenue to Begin

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) – The City of Corpus Christi will soon start street reconstruction work on Huntwick Avenue at South Staples Street near the H-E-B plus.

The work will completely reconstruct the existing roadway with new concrete pavement, curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The project includes ADA-compliant curb ramps, related signage and pavement markings. Additionally, related utility and drainage improvements are included.

The $954,452 project is funded through Type B street funds. Mako Contracting is the contractor. The work will improve the roadway and traffic flow, enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 14. The estimated completion date is in November.

A detailed map is below to represent the road work and traffic flow adjustments visually.

Detours will be clearly marked to ensure minimal disruption and maintain traffic flow.
