Corpus Christi to Hold Runoff Election

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - On November 19, the Corpus Christi City Council will canvass the results of the Nueces County General Election held on November 5, 2024. After the results are certified, the City Council will call for a runoff election scheduled for Saturday, December 14, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The unofficial winners for City Council races of the November 5 General Election are:

  • Sylvia Campos District 2

  • Eric Cantu District 3

  • Gil Hernandez District 5

  • Carolyn Vaughn At-Large

  • Mark Scott At-Large

  • Roland Barrera At-Large

The following races will be in the runoff election:

  • Mayor

  • City Council - District 1

  • City Council - District 4

Early voting for the runoff election will be from December 2 through December 10. The early voting and election day locations will be announced at a later date. Information will be posted at 2024 Election Central once it is finalized.

Canvassing for the runoff election will be on December 23. The 2024 - 2026 Council will be sworn in at 10:00 a.m. on January 14, 2025, before the regularly schedule City Council meeting.
