Driver of Stolen Pickup Truck Led Police on High-Speed Chase

ROBSTOWN - (News Release) On Aug. 2nd, Nueces Constable Deputies with Constable Oscar Mendoza’s office attempted to make a traffic stop on a black Chevy Pick-up that was observed traveling South on FM 666 and FM 1833 on the north western part of the county. When Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver of the pickup truck fled at a high rate of speed and evaded police. After a short pursuit, the pickup went through a fence and into a private field coming to a stop.

The unknown occupants fled on foot. Agua Dulce Marshals along with Border agents with Border Patrol assisted in the search. The vehicle came back stolen out of Houston and was recovered and taken to a local impound yard. The occupants fled and were not located. We ask ranchers and residents in the area to please call, if you see person or person walking through private land or property. Don’t approach these people, as they could be dangerous and we don’t know what or how they will respond. Always notify police when someone is on your land or property.
