New Game Room Regulations in Effect

 

Nueces County Commissioners Court

Nueces County (News Release) – The new game room regulations went into effect for Nueces County on January 2, 2023. According to a press release sent by Nueces County, the following rules have been set for operation of a game rooms in Nueces County.

  • May only be able to operate 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Sunday through Thursday, 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

  • Will not be allowed to operate within 1,500 feet of a school, church, or neighborhood and will be required to have armed security.

    It is a violation to operate without a permit however, through April 3, 2023, an exception will be made with submitted applications serving as conditional permits. Game room permits will be processed by the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office. Annual game room permits are $1,000 and are nonrefundable.

Those active game rooms currently in business will have 30-days from January 3rd to submit an application. For more information and to receive electronic documents of the regulations and the permit applications via email, contact the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office at 361. 887.2222.
