CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – The City of Corpus Christi is working alongside several agencies to determine the cause of a construction crane catching fire Saturday night.

On April 22 at approximately 7:43 P.M., the Corpus Christi Fire Department responded to assist Harbor Bridge Project crews with an equipment incident that resulted in a contained fire on a tower crane.

Two people were injured including a woman who was taken to the hospital, after a fire broke out on a crane at the new Harbor Bridge Saturday night.

The agencies working together to determine the cause include the City of Corpus Christi, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the Port of Corpus Christi Police Department, and the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

A review of the incident by Flatiron/ Dragados LCC, the Harbor Bridge project developer, is currently underway.
