Kleberg Task Force Find $150,000 Dollars Hidden in Car

Kleberg County Attorney's Specialized Crimes and Narcotics Task Force

KLEBERG COUNTY (News Release) - Agents with the Kleberg County Attorney’s Task Force was conducting criminal interdiction efforts on Highway 77 in Kleberg County. Agents conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car for multiple violations. While speaking with the driver, consent to search the vehicle was obtained. A search revealed an after-market compartment that contained several bundles of U.S. Currency.

The currency is estimated to be over $150,000 of which is from illegal proceeds.

The driver was arrested and transferred to a detention center.
