Falfurrias Police Department
FALFURRIAS, TEXAS - (News Release) On May 22, 2024, the Falfurrias Police Department, as a part of the OLS Task Force, took part and shown a presence in Beeville in support of Operation Lone Star.
According to Wikipedia, “Operation Lone Star (OLS) is a joint operation between the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Military Department along the United States–Mexico border in southern Texas. The operation started in 2021 and is ongoing. According to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the operation is intended to counter a rise in illegal immigration, the illegal drug trade, and human smuggling.”
“We are grateful to have the opportunity to join forces with several agencies to mitigate the drug and human trafficking crisis that eventually makes its way down south to our small community and border regions.” Chief William Barton, II said.
Falfurrias PD also attended an OLS Task Force meeting to discuss trends, stats and updates to be able to assist each other in their border initiative efforts, as well as, grant funds management by their administrative staff.
