Shade Structure Improvements for Corpus Christi Parks

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the Mayor and City Council approved the installation of 14 replacement and 13 new shade structures at Labonte Park, Lindale Park, Billish Park, and Parker Park.

The City’s Parks & Recreation Department will work with Synergy Construction of South Texas, LLC. to replace 27 existing concrete slabs before installing the 27 shade structures. Labonte Park will receive 12 replacement and eight new shade structures, Lindale Park will receive one new shade structure, Billish Park will receive two new shade structures, and Parker Park will receive two replacement and two new shade structures.

All of the shade structures are constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel which prevents corrosion and rust caused by outdoor exposure to rain and salt. As a result, the shade structures will require minimal maintenance, leading to a longer lifespan for the shade structures and cost savings for the City.
