Sister City Student Exchange Program 2023

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – The Corpus Christi Sister City Committee invites all Corpus Christi high school sophomores and juniors to apply for a chance to travel abroad this summer to one of Corpus Christi’s Sister Cities, Agen, France, and Yokosuka, Japan.

The Student Exchange Program is an opportunity awarded to Corpus Christi high school sophomores and juniors who have outstanding academic and leadership performance, a good understanding of what it means to be an ambassador for Corpus Christi, and a keen interest in learning about the world outside of the United States. The selection process includes a formal application and an interview with the Sister City Committee.

“The City of Corpus Christi is proud to provide this enriching cultural experience to our youth, expanding their future interests,” Mayor Paulette Guajardo said. “As young ambassadors of our beautiful coastal city, they will have opportunities to foster goodwill with our partnering cities at an international level.”

The selected high school students will spend two weeks in one of our Sister Cities over the summer with a host student and family. At the end of their stay, they will return with their host student to spend another two educational and fun-filled weeks in Corpus Christi.

For more information and to receive an application, visit https://www.cctexas.com/studentexchange. The application deadline is Friday, December 15, 2023. Limited scholarships to help defray travel costs are available.
