Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Bishop

BISHOP, TEXAS - (News Release) At approximately 7:50pm on Friday, August 30, 2024, Bishop Police Department Shift II Patrol Officers and Nueces County Pct-3 Constable Deputies, were dispatched to the 200 block of U.S. Highway 77, for a Suspicious Person refusing to leave the property.

Upon arrival Officers made contact with a subject matching the description provided, who was later identified as 33 year old Joshua Rojas.

During their subsequent investigation Officers on scene determined Rojas drove to the location in a vehicle parked nearby. Officers ran the vehicle registration and discovered it was a stolen vehicle out of Kingsville, Texas.

Rojas was placed under arrest on scene without incident, for felony Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (UUMV).

The recovered stolen vehicle was processed and impounded for safekeeping.

Rojas was later transported to the Nueces County Jail.

*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
