Texas A&M-Kingsville Online MBA Improves

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) — U.S. News and World Report has released their rankings for online MBA programs and the College of Business Administration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) gained ground coming in tied for 150. This is an improvement over the 2024 ranking of 155. 

“We are pleased to see our MBA program included in the U.S. News and World Report rankings. This acknowledgment reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement and delivering value to our students,” said Dr. Natalya Delcoure, dean of the College of Business Administration. 

Dr. Brent Kinghorn, associate dean and director of graduate programs, continued the thought, “Such recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty and staff. Our responsive curriculum and outstanding faculty are at the heart of our success. 

“We continually strive to provide a world-class education and foster an environment of excellence. Our goal is to sustain our high standards and push the boundaries of knowledge and education. TAMUK was tied at 150 with 12 other schools including two from Texas, University of Texas-Permian Basin and University of Houston-Clear Lake. There was a total of 355 schools across the nation included in the ranking.  

Counting only Texas public schools, A&M-Kingsville’s online MBA ranked seventh out of 19 universities.

In addition, TAMUK ranked fifth among Texas public schools for their online engineering program. “Being recognized as No. 5 among Texas public universities, and 6th when including both public and private schools, highlights our strong commitment to delivering high-quality education and exceptional support for our students. This ranking reflects our core strength — an academic foundation built on the expertise of our faculty and a genuine focus on preparing students for success in their careers," said Dr. Heidi Taboada, dean of the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering said.

"The importance of offering high-quality distance learning opportunities also highlights our commitment to making advanced education in engineering accessible to students everywhere," she added.

Schools are scored in five categories, each with each having a certain percentage of 100. The categories include engagement-30 percent; peer assessment-25 percent; faculty credentials and training-15 percent; student excellence-15 percent; and service and technologies-15 percent. 

The Texas A&M-Kingsville online MBA ranked highest in faculty credentials and training ranking 25th with a score of 97 out of 100. In the engagement category, TAMUK ranked 67th with a score of 80.
