Three Arrests Made in Koepke Homicide

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - At approximately 12:03 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Koepke reference a possible accident.

Upon arrival, officers located a 64-year-old male with critical injuries, the male was later pronounced deceased. During the preliminary investigation, homicide investigators learned that an altercation escalated to an assault, leaving the male unresponsive. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle prior to officers arriving.

Investigators and officers have worked diligently to identify and locate the offenders. On June 10, 2022 Investigators with our Homicide/Robbery Unit secured three murder warrants for 18-year-old Romeo Salinas, 17-year-old Aaron Moreno and 19-year-old Santiago Paz.

At approximately 1:35 am on June 11, 2022, officers with our Gang Unit were able to locate the whereabouts of the Salinas. Salinas was taken into custody without incident and later transported to the City Detention Center for processing. Moreno and Paz were served in the Nueces County Jail, as they were being held on unrelated charges.

Each were booked on a separate Murder Warrant ($500,000 bond), all three are being held at the Nueces County Jail.
